Installing and Licensing SurvOPT
1. To Download SurvOPT, you need a password.
If you don’t have a password to our secure download area, click the “ Request password ” Link to obtain one. It will open an email to Engenius. Please attach your signature so we know who you are!
The license and support email addresses are monitored seven days a week in multiple time zones, so we'll usually get back to you fairly quickly.
2. Next Choose a Version to download.
The latest stable version of SurvOPT will always be available from the support page.
Sometimes a new beta version will be available as well.
We generally only recommend beta versions for more experienced SurvOPT users.
- SurvOPT project files may not be backward compatible in all cases.
- Beta versions won’t have had as much field use and may contain undiscovered flaws
Click the Link to download the SurvOPT installer which will have a name like SetupSurvOPT_3_2_9.zip or SetupSurvOPT_3_3_2beta.zip
When the download is complete, save the installer somewhere you can find it again.
3. Now Run the Installer. You’ll see a series of dialogs.
The first will ask if you want to check for a later version. Click Yes.
You’ll see a message telling you if you have the latest stable version.
If you are trying out a beta version, you’ll get a message that you have a later version than current standard release.
SurvOPT normally installs to C:\Program Files\SurvOPT\
Click “Yes” to install to the default directory, no to install somewhere else.
SurvOPT normally installs SurvOPT shortcuts for all users, and stores them in a standard location. Click Yes twice for a normal installation, or override these choices by clicking No.
SurvOPT will now finish installing which will take a few moments.
You’ll see a “What’s New” screen. Check out what’s new in SurvOPT.
4. Now you’ll need to License SurvOPT.
You’ll see a licensing dialog. Engenius needs the reference code to generate your license key.
When you click the Request License Key button, SurvOPT will open an email that contains this reference code. Add your signature, and send the email.
We’ll respond as quickly as possible with your license key. When you get our email, open SurvOPT, click Enter License Key, and paste the license key into the dialog.
Click Enter. The dialog will update to show the new license period.
Close the Licensing dialog to start using SurvOPT.
You can check on the status of your license anytime by selecting Help->License
