New Costing and Reporting Tools

Traditionally, the costs of a marine seismic survey project have been worked out using a mixture of custom spreadsheets, time use logs and calculators.

If you have to work out just how much a survey cost (or should have cost, or will cost) SurvOPT is about to make your job a whole lot easier.
New SurvOPT 3.3 includes a powerful, flexible costing engine that combines the simulation power of SurvOPT with the ability to cost almost any kind of activity by any criteria.

SurvOPT 3.3 includes costing fields to model costs all the way through the project, from before leaving port to the end of demobilization – and generates detailed bidding reports with just a few clicks.

(Our design goal was to let you cost the entire project without having to use a calculator or a spreadsheet once.)

The new costing tools let you analyse a completed survey with amazing simplicity – take an existing SurvOPT project, enter the new “contract costing” parameters and spend a few minutes clarifying time usage where SurvOPT identifies long line changes. Click the instant report button, and you’ll have a report that accounts for every minute of time use for the completed project.

If you want to plan a new survey, the new Allowances tab lets you allow for month by month variations in downtime and standby rates, so you can see the effects of a delayed start, or even if you’ll finish your program at all. You can cost for all the ancillary expenses like QC reps, fuel surcharges, or cost production by distance, time, shots, area, number of sequences or any mixture.

If you are using SurvOPT’s time or environment constraints, you can automatically categorise the enforced delays as normal production, downtime or standby, and cost them accordingly.

You can even keep track of your budget as the project progresses, using the new Progressive Costs and Predicted Costs displays.

The Mobilization Tab lets you account for mobilization duration, including tools to quickly calculate transit duration to and from the prospect.

Cost projects based on simple day rates, or use the Advanced Costing Tab which allows for line km by status, square km, individual shots, and line change duration and delays.

Use the Ancillary Costs tab to account for QC reps, Gravity, MMO’s and everything else.

Use SurvOPT to import and review production, or generate a shooting plan with the search.
